A Snowy Pardon

Just when we were getting geared up for school starting again tomorrow, the heavens opened and cast down a snowy reprieve.  There will be no school this week for most of the kids in Ireland.

The drive between home in Bray and school in Greystones would looked a little more beautiful than usual.   What you don't see is the traffic that is waiting for me at the roundabout after I get over Bray Head.  Let's enjoy what's before us now.

A quiet field.

The Little Sugarloaf dusted with a snowy sugar coating.

No post will be leaving here today.

The beautiful fields of the Lord and Lady Meath's Kilruddery Estate.  I don't remember the name of this field.  Does anyone know?

We have the rest of the week off to relax and enjoy the comforts of home and family.  Time for a little Converse skiing....

And I just dodged this snowy attack!

Now, I hope I don't have to work tomorrow, but I will manage to get in if I have too.

My kids went back yesterday, but it's snowing here too again now and I don't think they'll be going tomorrow... They're going to have to go to school all summer to get caught up for the snow days taken this year!
We're expecting between 6-10 inches tonight.
Stay warm!

I've been living in Bray for 10 years now and never knew the name of that field. But I swear I heard last year in passing that it was called something like "The rainy field?"

Your photos look so beautiful. The snow is so pretty. I can't imagine. I've never lived in snow, only visited it.
today i spent on the beach, watching my husband surf. my daughter wore shorts. It felt like summer. I wouldn't mind it being a little more wintery. :)
have fun and stay warm!

I've lived in snow, back home in Minnesota, but I haven't experienced as much here in Ireland as I have this year. It would snow and usually be melted by midday. We've had nearly two weeks of ground cover.

Mmmmmm - What a enchanting, misty-white revery you've captured so beautifully through photos and words. I may not miss northern winters, but I love remembering the dreamy silence of falling snow. xoxKandice
